10 Reasons Why You Should Go On A Cruise

10 Reasons Why You Should Go On A Cruise

Cruising industry is booming everywhere all over the globe. There are Cruise Lines offering world cruises, cruises around a certain continent, a week getaway cruise around several cities and even an overnight cruise to nowhere. From gigantic 20 decker cruise ship to a cruising yatch, there are already many options for travelers to choose from.Β The question is, are you ready to cruise?

There are popular cruising myths that we always hear from those who haven’t been to a cruise like “I might not take the ship’s movement and I will get seasick”, “I don’t know how to swim in case the ship sinks” and “I am not used to crowded places” are among the reasons that they often mention when talking about cruising.

Nowadays, there are many enticing mediums like prints and video campaigns showing awesome water parks, couple enjoying the sea breeze in their balcony, a lady enjoying an exotic massage, colorful lights in the night club and many more. Even more encouraging, friends who have just cruised and with endless wonderful stories.

If you are among those people who are considering to embark into a wonderful cruise journey, here are the 10 reasons why you should go on a cruise vacation.

1. Great Value in Cruising

For one price, you pay for almost everything you’ll need for a great holiday: transportation in between different cities, food, accomodation, entertainment and leisure. Cruises starts as low as $80 per day which is surprisingly cheaper than what you will spend on land for hotels, meals, recreation and entertainment. Some cruises offer discounts or even free cruise for the kids cruising with adults. Some also offer a ‘Fly and Cruise’ package as many cruise lines tie-up with huge airlines.

2. Cruising is Easy and Convenient

Because cruising is an all-in package already, they are very easy to plan. Pick your ship, choose your itinerary, get the cabin type you wish and there you go… no searching of hotels, no booking of transportation in between your destinations, no worries where to eat and forget the other hassles in regular land holiday. You can either book your cruise from a travel agent or you can do it online from the cruise website. Some cruises offer shop cruise online where you can already pre-book your tours in different destinations. Similar to airlines, you can also do online check-in and download apps that can be very convenient for you to use while onboard.

3. Get To See Many Awesome Destinations In A Single Trip

You can wake up each morning in a different city. This is something that you cannot do in a regular land holiday. The cruise will take you from country to country, city to city or island to island and there is no hassle in catching up your transportation, walking in the streets with your luggage and look horrible before you reach to your next destination. If you can’t decide which island in Carribean to stay or which exotic country in Asia to explore (5 Best Cruise Destinations in Asia), then no worries because you can pick your cruise itinerary that can cover all. As mentioned earlier, you can pre-book your tours online or just do it onboard with no trouble.

4. Cruising is for Everyone

From infants to seniors, from solo to couples, from small family to big family, cruising is fun for all. You don’t have to worry about how can everyone enjoy in the trip because there is definitely something for all to be busy about. Inside the cruise, there is a Child Care Center for various age groups; infants, toddlers, tweens and teens that offers fun activities. As simple as sensory play to exciting high tech games and even hands-on edutainment activities like pizza making and more. Teens can enjoy their own teen’s area with billiard tables, car simulators and teen’s disco. Couples can enjoy the pool, massage, bowling alley, romantic dinner and more. Seniors can have fun under the sun or some quiet time in the Library or enjoy the Jazz band. Solo travelers have special Singles Club with organized activities to meet new people.

5. Limitless Variety of Entertainment and Activities

Cruise lines offer the best entertainment onboard. You can get to see different shows every night with Vegas and Moulin Rouge styled performances from astounding magic show, breathtaking acrobatic performances, graceful dance choreography, spectacular lights and colorful LED stage. Enjoy variety of music from a solo Pianist to Show Band. Attend enrichment talks, join themed parties, learning new dance moves, do some Arts and Crafts and many more. Activity starts as early as 6:00am with a Yoga Class and ends at 3:00am having fun in the Disco.

6. Cruise Ship is A Floating City

A cruise ship can be considered as a floating city. If you get hungry, there are many international restaurants to choose from. If you get bored, you can go to the Water Park, watch a 3D movie or go to the Sports Complex to play golf, tennis and basketball. If you want to relax, you can go to the salon, spa and sauna. If you want to have some Adventure, you can go surfing, rock climbing, take the rope course, drive a go kart or go underwater with submersibles. If you are feeling unwell, there is a clinic with a certified Doctor. If you want to shop, there are duty free shops onboard. The ship is also equipped with satellites which allow cruisers to use their wifi to connect to the internet and watch international cable channels onboard. Modern cruise ships have helipad that can be used in case of emergencies.

7. Wide Array of Food Selections

Food is one of the higlights in the cruise with great international Chefs and Cooks onboard cooking for everyone. Many cruise lines offer six meals a day. From breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and supper and all inclusive in the cruise package. For minimal fee, guests can enjoy a meal in a fine dining restaurant or enjoy a lunch in the teppanyaki room. During the cruise, there is also an evening for Gala Dinner with upgraded menu, free flowing champagne and presentation of the Captain and onboard officers.

8. Meet New People

If you are an outgoing person and would like to meet new people from different countries all over the world, the cruise is a great meeting place. Prior to embarkation, you can already meet fellow cruisers by joining online forums. Onboard, you can meet people by joining different clubs, activities and parties or over a meal in the restaurant. Your kids can also meet new friends from other countries inside the Child Care Center. And you might meet your Forever if you are looking for love. The best evidence is me and my wife. We met on 2010, got married on 2013 and had our first baby on 2014. Awesome right?

9. Cruising is Romantic

Cruising is really romantic. Imagine seating in your own balcony watching the sunset with a glass of wine with your love one. A dinner date with a sumptuous meal while a trio plays your love tune. A moment in the Jacuzzi with your favorite cocktail. Or seating in the promenade watching the stars in the sky and listening to the natural sound of the waves in the ocean. Cruise lines also offer honeymoon packages, renewal of vows and wedding onboard and ashore. They also offer activities and game shows for couples to enjoy.

10 Reasons Why You Should Go On A Cruise

10. Get the Pampering You Deserved

Regardless of your budget, all cruise lines pamper their guests with 5-star service around the clock. The ratio of crew onboard is always more than double from the number of their passengers to make sure that their guests can have a memorable experience onboard. Some cruise lines, offer butler service if you booked for a high category cabin. You can also have a personal coordinator who will arrange everything you need to have or you need to do onboard without hassles.

So are you ready to have a cruise vacation?

If you are still worried about its safety. Don’t worry, all cruise lines are mandated to have safety drills prior to their departure so you can be familiar with the safety procedures onboard in case of emergency. All the crew are very well trained in attending emergency situations. They get certificates before joining the ship and have continuous trainings and drills onboard in a regular basis. The ships are also equipped with enough life jackets. The capacity of the life boats, life rafts and rescue boats are more than the maximum capacity of the cruise. If you are thinking about the incident of Titanic, there is nothing to worry as all the modern ships are now equipped with ice breakers. The cockpit of the ship also known as the “bridge” is equipped with high end instruments to monitor other ships and small boats around to avoid collision, monitor the depth of the ocean to avoid grounding, flooding and fire avoidance system to control water tight and fire doors, water sprinklers and alarms that help to avoid major and dangerous situations onboard.

So now, are you ready? Choose the cruise that suits to you. You can have your vacation of a lifetime, discover the best destinations around you and pamper yourself with the best.

Ready to go on a cruise, just to have find some money to do and someone to share the ‘romantic portion’ of a cruise. Anyway, I have been wishing to go on a cruise for quite some time, but my family is not really into favour of that. It is really a time, that I find someone to go with me haha

We’ve been on 3 now. I’ll give you another reason, for a family it works out cheaper to cross the Atlantic on a cruise ship than to fly, if you find the right deal! Of course, you have to have the luxury of endless free time too. Which we have.

Love the post, but don’t you think that maybe cruising makes you lose something? You don’t get to see much of the places you visit, for instance.

That is true. Of course if you want to spend longer in a place you can always come back. Cruising is more on experience onboard rather than outside experience. πŸ™‚
